Please pray for Jos
From Dr Kent Hodge of the Christian Faith Institute in Jos, Nigeria.
We had more Muslim/Christian trouble in the city on Tuesday and it came to our compound but ended peacefully. A church close by I have spoken in a few times was burnt down. Today there is rioting in Jos. Some came to our Bible College estate yesterday to burn it down, but we turned them away in peace.
A house was burnt down right next to Emmanuel Razack’s house (the guest house where we all stay and all guests from UK stayed in) this morning. All our staff are in their houses.
Classes for a new semester at the Bible College begin next week. We are expecting many new students. We are busy preparing for it now and will resume as soon as the curfew hours are reduced.
They are trying to extend this right through the north of Nigeria today and there is alert in all major cities. The president of the nation is sick and this is also producing uncertainty about who will take over. I go back to Jos in two weeks and have peace about it. We are all remaining open to the Lord in what steps to take.
Thank you for your vital prayer in this critical situation. When God is doing something the enemy attempts to stop it. But Jesus is Lord!.
We need God’s gracious intervention in this nation once again and peace.
Lots of love and thanks for your partnership together.
